Speaker 1:

You. This Is unleashing leadership and I'm your host, travis Moss. And welcome to the YouTube day, where I go out into the internet, find inspiration for you and then give you my inspiration from that inspiration. So you basically are getting bogey buy one, get one free, two inspirations for the price of one. You got a video to go watch on YouTube and then you've got my inspiration from it.

Speaker 1:

Today's Episode is all about having a conversation with fear. Our video is this will give you goosebumps One of the most inspiring video ever, and it's posted by my motivation coaching. Yeah, I know Title doesn't really say anything kind of quirky. Go listen to it. It actually is really really good. I really enjoyed.

Speaker 1:

I had for quick takeaways on it challenge yourself, limiting beliefs, look at your past and use it to empower you, ask how extraordinary can I become? And stop allowing your thoughts, caught, conscious or not, to sabotage you. And Then, of course, I had my takeaway, my inspiration from this video, what I felt and thought as soon as I listened to this video. So here goes Fear is the great controller. Fear allows us to justify nearly any excuse for our behaviors. Fear allows others to control our futures. I Don't know if there's anyone out there who doesn't actually have fear, but I do think that there are people out there who have mastery over their fear. Sometimes we call this courage, sometimes it's referred to as discipline we can probably come up with a lot of other terms to describe it but what I'm getting at is that fear is just a limiting thought, and if you don't think you have fear, but you have limiting thoughts, that is fear in disguise.

Speaker 1:

We need to change our lives, and being driven by fear to being propelled by opportunity, and if we've already mastered this for ourselves, then we owe it to everybody we lead to help them achieve that as well, because our minds are so incredibly powerful powerful in good ways and in bad. We can condition the mind to see the world for abundance of opportunity and experiences, or it can be conditioned to limit and protect. And why do we protect things? Because we are afraid. Social expectations, negative judgment, not having control, showing weakness, losing status, losing money, missing out, personal inadequacies, being left out, being embarrassed, not being chosen, not mattering, being challenged, losing taking on responsibilities and being accountable. Every single thing that holds us back is also an opportunity, and the difference between those who have and those who have not, those who did and those who didn't, those who are satisfied and those who are unsatisfied is fear.

Speaker 1:

What if, instead of recoiling at fear, instead of pushing it away, what if we invite fear in? What if, every time our mind tries to make an excuse for us, we say hey, over there you, I see you. I see you fear, I see what you're doing. Come here, come here, get over here, sit down, so have a talk. Have a talk. What would you say to fear?

Speaker 1:

I want you to envision what you would say have a discussion with fear. Look at it, stare it down, grill it, make it be accountable to you. What would you say to it? Do you think this is a silly exercise? Are you laughing? I did. I thought it was goofy as hell. I still get a smirk. I'm doing it right now while I'm, you know, putting this episode together, and I actually feel lighter Because I realize how fucking stupid I am to let fear control me, to limit me, to dictate my life, to have any agency over me.

Speaker 1:

When I visualize my own fear sending across for me and having to answer for itself, I actually see a sniveling, shriveled up, mute pile of blandness. Doesn't even have a face, it's weak. It's like a mutilated skeleton. And that makes me smile. It gives me energies, like a shot of energy right into my body. It's my internal bully, getting its ass kicked over and over again. What do you see? When you see your fear, I ask it why are you? Why fear? Why are you here? What are you trying to do? Ah, poor fear. Someone's not getting any a little bit of fear. Someone's not getting any attention anymore. Fucking jerk, get up and go sit in the corner. Go be by yourself. I don't want you contaminating anyone else with yourself. Pity, that's what you do with your fear. Let it go.
