Speaker 1:

This is Unleashing Leadership, and I'm your host, travis Moss, and today's, a special YouTube episode called I Make it Happen. This is where we take a YouTube video and I give you my inspiration from it. Today's video is called it's Going to Happen, because I am going to make it happen. That's motivational video, and so this is something that I found online. It's a compilation, really, of a lot of different people speaking. We'll post it on our website so you can get to it and listen to it for yourself, but here is my inspiration. So this is I'm pulling some stuff from the video, and the rest of it's my heart.

Speaker 1:

I am a failure. I am a failure in so many things, and I can choose to look at my failures with self pity or doubt, or I can look at my failures as part of my success. Failures are not waste if we learn from them. Failures are the stepping stones to something better. Failures are where we learn. It's where we grow. So few people reach the top, and the reason is because they are too afraid of failure. They don't stick their neck out. They choose between convenience and virtues. They have an idea of how they want to look, how they want to live their lives. It's too hard to actually do that, so they do as I say, not as I do.

Speaker 1:

There's a difference between wanting and willing. You can want success. You can want to be in charge. You can want to make more money. You can want to have a wonderful family. You can want to live a long life. You can want to save the environment. You can want to change the world. But are you willing to do what it takes? Have any of those things? Doing what it takes means that there are going to be days where you will be lonely because you are walking a path that not many can follow. Times where you will be broke the richest men in the world have all been broke many times Moments where you will stumble, and sometimes it will be in front of the largest crowds. But being willing to do what is required to get where you want is a difference between the top and the bottom, and there's not much of it. There's not much in between. There's the top and the bottom. There's the people who do things and the people who don't. People who try to do things but don't stick to them, don't commit to them, don't get through them. They're just in the bottom.

Speaker 1:

The problem most of us have is that we are embarrassed or we are afraid of being embarrassed. We're too easily shamed. Take whatever might embarrass you or whatever you are or might be ashamed of and use that as your why Flip it around, not to avoid it. You don't run from things. You challenge it.

Speaker 1:

Imagine whatever that thing is standing right in front of you, that nasty, horrible, gross, ugly thing holding you back, standing right in front of you. You spit right at its face. Imagine yourself spitting in its face and you might say well, that's bad sportsmanship, that's not what gentlemen or gentlemen do. Well, there is no good sportsmanship with your shame. Your shame has held you prisoner for too long. Your fear of judgment has shackled you and beat you and run up the score and it's time that you hit it back. And when you hit it back, you hit it so hard that you knock your shame and fear and guilt and whatever else is holding you back on its ass and you send it crawling and sniffling back into the darkness from where it came. And you remember how these demons ran up the score on you, how they embarrassed you, how they made you less of a human being and you buried them with the same channel, turning style blowout. This is how you get over failure. This is how you become successful in any meaningful way. This is how you become the example for others.

Speaker 1:

And before you say that you never wanted to be an example if you have children or young people in your life, don't go there. If you have employees or people that look up to you, don't go there. If you have younger brothers and sisters, don't go there. If you're a teacher, don't go there. If you are religious, do not go there. By the very nature of who you are. If you are any of those things, you are an example to others and you have a responsibility to be a good example to others. You want to have a better world for you and your children to live in. You have to be the example that they look up to, not somebody else. Stop waiting for somebody else to show the way. You show the way.

Speaker 1:

My favorite quote from the whole piece the moment you take your life off mute, you will give volume to all those who depend on you. You don't have the right to hide. You probably don't realize how powerful you really are and how many people could possibly depend on you. I'm not talking for money. I'm not talking for love or anything material. I'm talking for inspiration.

Speaker 1:

We are in a world that is running short on inspiration and hope. When you do step forward from the shadow of fear, anxiety, embarrassment, shame, whatever else is holding you back, and you step into the light of inspiration, motivation, courage and ownership, burn the fucking bridge behind you and never go back. There are so many people waiting and wishing for somebody like you to unleash this nuclear energy that you hold inside. People need your shockwave so that they know it can be done, so that there is a map forward, so that they can see that somebody can fail and rise. They shouldn't have to be afraid of that. It's the map that you paint with your sweat and tears. Finally, from the peace, be proud of who you are. You are the person that you create.
